Case Studies

Need some ideas? After 25 years of designing and building a wide variety of outdoor projects, it's hard to encapsulate them all in one place. Classic 'Case Studies' discuss individual projects that we have completed over the years and we have pictures sorted by type for you to review as well.

Millennium Railway

This is our labor of love at the 2000 Northwest Flower and Garden Show. A winner of three awards, this project is still used by the NWFGS staff to show new designers at the show how to build a complex project in a short time.

We pre-built the walls and track sections in one of our nursery greenhouses. Shrink-wrapped and ready for the three-day installation at the Convention Center, the tracks went up quickly so that we were able to spend more time finessing the rock areas with planting. Ably assisted by folks from the Puget Sound Garden Railway Society, this garden was co-sponsored by Monrovia. Have a look at our 2002 garden "Mirabilia" as well.

Unlike other firms at NWFGS, our garden show work isn't built to say "Hire us. Here's what we do." Instead, we want to stretch our imaginations and try something that we have never done before.
