Mirabilia
Centered upon the legends of King Arthur, this garden featured a rustic hewn arbor, sandblasted scrollwork in granite, a sword in the stone, a steaming cauldron, and a tricky waterfall and ponds.
Divided into areas by theme, each area was represented by plants central to that theme by medieval lore. A stainless steel suit of armor represented the fallen Arthur against a backdrop of primroses and a single daffodil, symbols of the deceased.
The custom mural was framed by a large wrought iron urn and "The Merlin Tree," a large gnarly oak. We displayed our garden on the Skywalk bridge overlooking Pike Street, the entrance to the 2002 Northwest Flower & Garden Show.
